After Colt pulled a real creek chub from the river, he brought the reference to our shop, and we went to work. ​The Colts Creek Chub is a masterclass in baitfish mimicry. We utilize a high-contrast, two-color laminate design to replicate the natural camouflage of a live chub:
​The Top: A deep, dark green pigment embedded with custom black and blue flake. This mimics the natural dorsal camouflage of a creek chub, allowing the bait to disappear into the water column when viewed from above.
​The Belly: A subtle, pale pink underbelly accented with fine black flake. This provides the perfect flash and "life-like" contrast that mimics the gills and belly coloration of a nervous baitfish darting through the current.
