Hey, I’m Daniel — owner of Bent Rod Fishing.

 

Bent Rod didn’t start with a factory, a big investment, or some grand business plan. It started in 2020 with $500, a love of fishing, and an idea that maybe we could build something of our own. Like a lot of small businesses, the road from there wasn’t exactly straight. We started by selling imported fishing lures online. Eventually, I realized that simply selling someone else’s products wasn’t what I wanted Bent Rod Fishing to become. I wanted to make things. Solve problems. Create baits that gave anglers something different. So I started painting hard baits, pouring soft plastics, learning molds, colors, materials, and every other part of bait making I could get my hands on.

 

Then came The RIG. It started as a homemade prototype at my workbench because I wanted a better way to fish the hover-strolling technique. I made four of them, took them fishing... and caught a ton of bass. That little experiment eventually became our first proprietary bait and changed the direction of Bent Rod Fishing completely.

Today, Bent Rod is still a small, family-run business. The baits we sell are made by us, the colors are created by us, and the ideas usually begin with one simple question: “How can we fish this differently?”

 

I’m also a firm believer that there’s no reason to keep everything I’ve learned to myself. Through the Bent Rod Fishing YouTube channel and Pouring Profits, I share the bait-making techniques, mistakes, costs, business lessons, and experiences I wish someone had shared with me when I started.

 

There’s a lot more I want to build. More proprietary baits. More crazy colors. More ways to grow Bent Rod without losing what made it Bent Rod in the first place. But whether I'm designing the next bait, standing over a mold, packing an order, making a video, or out on the water testing something new, the goal hasn't really changed: Make something we're proud to put the Bent Rod name on — and hopefully help somebody put more fish in the boat.
